Assistive Technology

Assistive technology is technology used to perform functions that might otherwise be difficult or impossible due to a disability. It may also help you or others to do something more safely.

If you are an NDIS participant, any assistive technology must meet the reasonable and necessary criteria. However, even if you are not, it is important that any assistive technology you purchase, rent or borrow meets your individual needs.
It is recommended you engage the services of an experienced Occupational Therapist to support you in this process.

Depending on your individual needs, you may require support with the following after your assessment;
-
Equipment sourcing
-
Equipment trials
-
Formal reporting to justify the prescription, including AT reports or letters of recommendation
-
Manual handling training and guidelines
-
Setup on delivery
-
Regular reviews of your needs to ensure your AT is working for you
